This Project will involve you in reviewing the need for routine health screening in apparently healthy patients and writing a brief report. Once completed send the report by email (in .doc format) to the Course Organiser. 

Your report will count as 10 Continuing Education points towards your annual PLLP target of 90 points, and Provet will send you an appraisal of your Entry. The best entries will be judged and you may win an Award ! 

For a selected species of animal (eg cat,dog,rabbit,horse,cattle, sheep) review the possible situations for conducting a routine health screen even though the animal is apparently normal. Write a brief report to include the following : 

• What is a routine health screen ?
• List situations when a routine health screen might be indicated in the species that you have selected (egs age-related, pre- or post-pregnancy, pre- or post-exposure to a health hazard, pre- or post-purchase)
• List the procedures that should be included in a routine health screening programme ? If you already have one or more practice programmes list those.
• How often should animals be screened, and who should do the screen - a vet, a veterinary nurse, the owner ?
• Do you know whether or not your clients think that routine screening of older animals to detect disease early is advisable ? If not, conduct a mini-survey to find out. 
• Any other comments that you want to make
