- Replication in the gut is usually asymptomatic, but may rarely cause mild diarrhoea.
- Tissue cysts of T. gondii usually cause no clinical signs in cats. If they do, clinical signs reflect the major organs involved and include:
- anorexia and depression
- ocular lesions such as uveitis and keratic precipitates
- possibly jaundice, vomiting, diarrhoea
- neurological signs.
- Congenital infection of kittens is a rare cause of fading kitten syndrome.
