RHINOSPORIDIOSIS

Rhinosporidium seeberi is found mainly in the Indian sub-continent and South America, but occurs sporadically world-wide.

The usual clinical signs are sneezing and a nasal discharge caused by the development of a unilateral polyp-like mass in the nares of large breeds of dog.

Diagnosis is by cytology and histopathology.

Treatment is surgical removal.
