LYME DISEASE TREATMENT

Antibiotic therapy such as tetracycline (10-20 mg/kg orally three times daily for 2 weeks) or, if no response, penicillin G (22 mg/kg IV four times daily for 1 week).

In man, mild analgesics such as aspirin are recommended for arthritis, but the response to antibiotic therapy in dogs is apparently very rapid so such treatment is probably not necessary.
