INFECTIOUS CANINE HEPATITIS CONTROL

Control is largely based on vaccination, and has been very successful; infectious hepatitis caused by CAV-1 is unusual nowadays. Both live and inactivated vaccines are available. Live CAV-1 vaccines used to produce an incidence of mild disease and blue eye, and live ICH vaccines now contain adenovirus-2 (CAV-2). CAV-2 is a cause of kennel cough , and CAV-2 vaccines induce protection against disease caused by both CAV-1 and CAV-2
