CANINE DISTEMPER

This highly contagious disease of dogs and other carnivores is still reasonably common despite several decades of vaccination. Clinical signs may involve the respiratory, alimentary and central nervous systems, and may vary in severity from very mild to rapidly fatal. In vaccinated or otherwise partially immune dogs, only the respiratory sign may be seen, making distemper an important part of differential diagnosis of kennel cough .
