• Gram-negative, slender, curved rod (1.5-5 um by 0.2-0.5 um) which may be curve-, S- or gull-shaped, found singly, in pairs or in chains.
• C .jejuni is the organism usually associated with diarrhoea in the dog although C. coli may be isolated on occasions.
