Other laboratory investigations which might corroborate a diagnosis of FIV related disease include:
- persistent leucopenia, especially lymphopenia and neutropenia;
Lymph node biopsy may reveal follicular hyperplasia, or atrophy and involution. In the future, measurement of circulating CD4 cell numbers and CD4:CD8 ratios may be more routinely available to aid diagnosis of immunosuppression, although even these can be difficult to correlate with clinical immunosuppression.
