M. gatae and M. felis have both been implicated in arthritis in cats, and bacterial L-forms have been associated both with joint disease and subcutaneous abscesses. Ureaplasmas have been implicated in one experimental study in spontaneous abortions and kitten mortality, but there is no evidence that this occurs in the field.
