There are a wide variety of methods available for the treatment of neoplasia in dogs and
cats and in geriatric patients it is advisable also to treat the effects of paraneoplastic
syndrome. For example, hypercalcaemia is most often due to haematopoietic malignancy
(myeloma and lymphoma) and rehydration followed by corticosteroids are indicated.
